Soccer Superstar Tim Howard
Designs Flip Video Camera for the
Tourette Syndrome Association
TimHowardTSAFlip

Quality of Life (QOL) is the name of a new edition of the "Flip" video camera designed by soccer goalie Tim Howard. The camera features the official Tourette Syndrome Association (TSA) logo on the bottom left of the camera front. Tim designed this camcorder to bring awareness to and inspire the community touched by and living with Tourette Syndrome (TS). For each camcorder sold, $10 will be donated to the TSA.

Available exclusively online at the flip store the HD camcorder is offered in five memory versions ranging from 4GB (one hour of recording time) to 16GB (4 hours of recording time) and sell from $149.00 to $249.00.

"I'm committed to raising awareness about TS and doing what I can to empower youth who live with the disorder," Tim said. "When people purchase my [Howard] flip cam they are also helping to support a great organization that works to improve the quality of life of those who live with TS."

Tim was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at the age of 11, and is extremely active in creating awareness and fostering education of the much misunderstood neurological disorder.

Tim currently plays for the Everton Football Club and the United States national team, where he was the starting keeper for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. He started his professional soccer career with the North Jersey Imperials before making a move to Major League Soccer's New York/New Jersey MetroStars, and in 2003, signed with English Premier League's, Manchester United.

His success on the field is only comparable to his success as a role model for children and adults who live everyday with TS. In 2001, he was named Major League Soccer Humanitarian of the Year for his charitable efforts on behalf of TS and continues to work closely with TSA on public service and awareness campaigns and mentoring programs. A native of New Brunswick, New Jersey, Tim has been involved in numerous TSA activities and was honored with the 2004 "TSA Champion of Children Award."

Tim's TS earned more headlines than his goalkeeping in the British press during the months leading to his signing with Manchester United. Some papers referred to him as a "disabled goalie with a brain disorder" and "suffering from the cursing disease." But he never shied away from the negative publicity and addressed it - every chance he had.

"He is a tremendously charitable individual to whom children - those with and without TS - all over the world can look to as a role model and champion," said Judit Ungar, TSA President.
