A Hallmark Hall of Fame production (the same people who brought us "Front of the Class"), this film stars John Corbett as a Michigan high school football coach and special-education teacher who helps his special-ed students achieve their impossible dream: to attend Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Their inspiring journey is based on a true story. One of the students, Steve (played wonderfully by actor David Lambert), has Tourette Syndrome. "A Smile as Big as the Moon" is based on the memoir of the same title, written by Mike Kersjes with Joe Layden, and the script is by Tom Rickman, who also wrote "Front of the Class." |
