As part of its mission to identify current research advances, disseminate them among the scientific and medical communities, and establish networks of basic and clinical scientists, the Tourette Syndrome Association Inc.(TSA) sponsors, on a periodic basis, an International Medical and Scientific Symposium. The last symposium, the 5th International Medical and Scientific and Symposium on Tourette Syndrome, was held in New York City from June 12-13, 2009. As with the four previous symposia convened by the TSA, this meeting provided a forum for updating current research findings for basic scientists, clinical researchers and allied medical practitioners.
