HEALTH INSURANCE

TSA Resources

Unfortunately, many people with TS are experiencing difficulty in obtaining health insurance, or appropriate reimbursement for the TS related health care they receive under their existing insurance plans. TSA is addressing this issue on the National level by monitoring health insurance legislation and lobbying for changes in the law to ensure that people with TS gain better access to health insurance coverage.

TSA sells a helpful brochure, LA209 Health Insurance-Issues and Solutions for People with TS for $3.00 plus shipping (also available as a download--see item LA209DD).  Click here for our on-line store of of Publications & Videos.

A column in our Fall 1999 Newsletter, "Ask the Insurance Expert", addresses some of the issues involved. By joining TSA, you receive our quarterly newsletters, and your membership dollars can help us advocate for health insurance rights for people with TS.

We have prepared a free Health Insurance information packet to help in negotiating with Health Insurance carriers, including sample letters from physicians, and a description of the insurance appeal process. We have also prepared a guide to the Health Insurance resources for each state. You can request this packet and/or the guide for your state by sending an e-mail to ts@tsa-usa.org, including your mailing address.
